On Saturday, 5 July 2025, Manvers Lake was awash in sunshine, music and festival joy as the Waves Music Festival unfolded in style. With crystal-clear skies and a gentle breeze off the water, the stage was set for a warm, happy, and relaxed day.

The day’s headline slot saw an Oasis tribute band take to the stage, delivering stellar renditions of the Britpop legends’ greatest hits. The choice couldn’t have been more relevant — Oasis themselves had only just reunited in 2025 for their long-awaited comeback tour, returning to the stage after a 16-year hiatus. The tribute act captured the magic perfectly, sending waves of nostalgia across the crowd while celebrating the return of one of Britain’s most iconic bands.

Another major highlight was the incredible set by Miss Madonna, whose energy, voice, and charisma lit up the lakeside. Festivalgoers were unanimous in their praise, and one spectator even commented that she was “better than anyone I saw at Glastonbury this year.” High praise indeed, and a testament to the talent on display at Waves.

The festival also welcomed Take This, the celebrated Bedfordshire-based Take That tribute act, performed by the cream of the west end. They worked their magic with their exceptional vocals, energetic routines and tight harmonies. With classics from the very beginning right through to Take That’s more recent hits, they had the audience singing along.

Waves 2025 also put the spotlight on local talent, with Rock Pits and Lee Bailey delivering fantastic performances.
We can’t wait to welcome you back next summer.
