Christmas at Manvers Lake – A Season Full of Festive Fun

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Manvers Lake, and we’re excited to share a month of festive activities throughout December. From community events to club celebrations, there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether you are a Manvers Waterfront Boat Club member or part of the wider community.
Community Events
Hana’s Santa Dash & Fun Run – Saturday 6th December
Kick off the Christmas season with our annual Santa Dash and Fun Run, held in loving memory of Hana Szczepkowski, who sadly lost her battle with cancer at just 31. Together, we’ll celebrate Hana’s life, keep her memory shining bright, and raise vital funds for Team Verrico, the charity that supported her.
The Fun Run is one lap of Manvers Lake (1.25 miles / 2km) and starts at 9:30am. The Santa Dash offers one, two, or three laps and starts at 10:00am. Fancy dress is optional, and all ages are welcome. Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children. This event is open to all; membership is not required.
Santa’s Coming to Manvers Lake – Saturday 13th December
Santa will arrive at Manvers Lake at 10:00am, travelling across the water with his helpers before heading to his magical grotto. Each child can enjoy a free 15-minute visit in small groups and will receive a special gift from the Doncaster Literacy Trust. One child per booking, and each must be accompanied by an adult. This event is free and open to everyone, but spaces are limited.
Christmas Craft Fun – Monday 22nd December
Bring the children to get creative with three festive crafts to make and take home. There will also be a sensory/messy play area for babies and younger children (please bring a spare change of clothes).
Sessions run in the Big Room (just off the car park) at 9:00–10:00am, 10:30–11:30am, and 1:00–2:00pm. The session fee is £2 per child, which includes juice and a Christmas snack. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is suitable for children up to 10 years old and is open to all.
Members Only Events
Team Manvers Celebration Night – Saturday 13th December
Celebrate another fantastic year at our annual Team Manvers Celebration Night. Enjoy an evening of food, friendship, and club presentations.
The evening starts at 6:00pm, with a buffet served from 7:30pm, followed by the club presentations. Award categories will be sent via Microsoft Forms, so make sure your email is up to date on WebCollect to vote. This event is open to all club members and their guests.
Santa Paddle – Saturday 20th December
Join us for our annual Santa Paddle during the usual Saturday paddle session, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Members are encouraged to wear Santa suits, Elf ears, or any other festive outfit. Book on the standard club session as normal on webcollect.
2025 Festive Fun Ride – Sunday 28th December
Finish the festive season with a social ride for all abilities, bikes, and fitness levels. Meet at the club at 9:30am and choose from two road routes or a TPT trail. After the ride, enjoy soup and a roll, buns, cake, tea, and coffee for just £5. Please book and indicate your soup choice in advance.
